General Downloader

The Internet is the biggest source of files, no matter if we are talking about music, movies, ebooks, images and software. But to be able to access all this information, the user should know what websites to access, for downloading files. General World is the name of the biggest family of websites for downloading various types of contents, from music to books and software. For helping users download files from this group of websites, the General Downloader software was released.

This is basically a download manager that was created especially for downloading content hosted on the General World family of websites. This simple Windows application can work in two ways, either by pasting the link to the online file or by directly intercepting the download link when clicked on it.

Besides working with files hosted on the General World websites, General Downloader can also download files from other file sharing sites, like RapidShare or Letitbit. Still, the program won't be able to bypass the waiting limitations imposed by these websites in case the user is not registered with them. The program allows downloading more files at once, each from a different website.

The interface is graphical and features a search tool, for quickly finding files on the General World websites. Besides that, it features an option section, from which one can configure the path for saving downloaded files and can also select in which browsers General Downloader should be integrated.

Some of the program's features, like manually adding a download link, can only be accessed only after creating an account on the producer's website. This is free and can be completed in a very short time. The number of simultaneous downloads can be configured. In case there are more files that need downloading, only 3 of them will be processed using the default settings and the others will be put in a queue. This can help save bandwidth.
